Haven Day Centre (leagally named DCF Premier Workshops) provides a stimulating environment, offering various activities, and day-care or assistance, to adults with restricted mobility, sensory impairment, or who have learning support needs. All this takes place in a caring Christian environment.
Based in Filwood Park, Knowle West in Bristol, 2015 marked the 30th anniversary of our work and over this time many hundreds of people have known a new sense of belonging, and of being valued.

Life Skills at the Create Centre!
The Lifeskills Centre aims to help improve the lives of people with learning difficulties by providing realistic sets where people can learn and practise independent living skills.
The Centre provides a space where people can take their time to learn at their own pace. The realistic scenarios simulate everyday problems and allow people to learn how to deal with them whilst in a safe environment. This could range from deciding which types of food they should be buying at the supermarket to how to react in a house fire. There is even the opportunity to practise making a 999 phone call. Have a look at their website to learn more about it! http://lifeskills-bristol.org.uk/about-the-centre/
We have completed 2 trips so far to the Life Skills and have a 3rd already booked! Everyone so far have come back telling everyone else about some of the skills they have learned and practiced. In the picture above you can see, Chris, Susan, Charlotte, Roger and David at the beach learning how to stay safe whilst at the beach and in the sea. We learned about the different flags when swimming in the sea, what to do if someone or themselves were in danger at sea and how to protect ourselves from the sun as well as many others things!
We have had lots of Students visiting us from St Brendans College. Staff and members are thrilled to be working with the students, the students have been getting involved with an array of activities that go on at Haven Day Centre and we are glad that we can contribute towards their learning.
David here is Cooking with one of the Students, he enjoyed bakig with her and certainy seemed to enjoy eating the cakes too!

Liam Roberts and his friends Chris Smith and Joe Ballinger ran the Cheltenham Half Marathon. They all ran to raise money for their chosen charities and we are very honoured that Liam ran to raise money for us at Haven Day Centre in memory of Barbara, his Auntie. Barbara was a much loved character where ever she went, she always had a smile on her face and we are so pleased that we were able to contribute to being one of the reasons why Barbras smile was always so bright
Liam completed the marathon in an amazing 1 hour 58 minutes and 13 seconds!! He raised £700, we want to say a massive thank you to Liam and everyone who sponsored Liam, it really is appreciated!
Liam and friends, we hope your legs werent too stiff the next day!
Once again many thanks for your kindness and for thinking of us!
